Aisha joined the Rape Recovery Center in August 2018 as an Education Intern. She believes in the importance of helping families talk about consent and boundaries. She is passionate about giving children a platform to be heard, especially within interpretation to pain within their own bodies. As an education intern, her focus is on public speaking, education and trauma-informed care.
She is currently studying at the University of Utah; pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Gender Studies with an emphasis on the health professions. She is seeking an education in trauma-informed care and medicine, in hopes to implement it into serving diverse and underserved pediatric populations. She has previously served as an intern with the Women’s Resource Center.
In her free time, Aisha serves as a board member at the Ronald McDonald House, volunteers in Infusion at Huntsman Cancer Institute, and is the Event Coordinator for Utah Down Syndrome Foundation. She also loves to spend time with her dog, MO, go skiing, and paint watercolors.
