Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic violence impacts millions of people each year. Prevention requires the collective voice and power of individuals, families, institutions, and systems – everyone can do  “one thing” that transforms our communities.

#1thing can create change!

This year’s theme developed by the Domestic Violence Project Advisory Group (DVAP) focuses on #1thing. Many people care and understand that domestic violence is a serious public health problem. Imagine if 7.4 billion individuals each commit to doing one thing – this collective action can create real social transformation. At the Rape Recovery Center we understand that Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence are intertwined and rooted in power and control. By addressing either or both, we can all work to create a future without violence.
