Partner Spotlight: University Neighborhood Partners

The Rape Recovery Center works closely with many partners to maximize our collective impact and further the important work being done in our community. We are constantly looking for new opportunities to collaborate with change makers throughout Utah. We are excited to share more about a budding partnership with University Neighborhood Partners, who recently hosted our first ever 40 hour advocacy training in Spanish.

University Neighborhood Partners creates community partnerships that are focused on identifying resident-related issues. They specialize in aiding the Latinx and refugee communities in combating systemic barriers. UNP provides an English translation service to bridge the language gap that often arises within these communities to create better and more concise communication. They also have clinical interns come in to provide free and accessible therapy for those in need. Their ultimate mission is to bring the University and the community on the west side together for learning, mutual benefits, and action.

The relationship between the Rape Recovery Center and UNP is currently developing and growing. The values between UNP and RRC are synonymous in the intention to empower our community, provide education on pertinent issues,  and center the voices of marginalized communities. Like UNP, the RRC also believes in partnerships that ensure successful and sustainable collaboration to ensure that these goals are met. With this partnership, we aim to better serve the Latinx and refugee communities of Salt Lake, and to grow our organizations relationship with residents on the west side.
