Blue Tie Gala
hosted by Beta Theta Pi

Each year, this event brings the community together to raise money to support the efforts of the Rape Recovery Center. Every dollar raised throughout our fundraising initiative goes to support the critical work and vital services graciously provided by the Center. As the only standalone agency dedicated to serving survivors of sexual violence state wide, The Rape Recovery Center relies heavily on the support and fundraising efforts of the community. The Gamma Beta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi seeks to expand the impact of the Rape Recovery Center in our community, whether on-campus, on the row, or just in Salt Lake City.

This event features speakers, live auction, silent auction, dinner, drinks, and a celebration of the partnership between Beta Theta Pi and the Rape Recovery Center.

For over 5 years, the Rape Recovery Center and Beta Theta Pi have partnered in myriad ways. As the philanthropic partner for the Fraternity, nearly $200,000 has been raised to support the services of the Rape Recovery Center and hundreds of service hours have been donated to the center by active Beta’s and alumni. In addition to this incredible support, the fraternity has hosted educational forums on campus each year to educate those on Greek row, and the general student population, on the cause and prevention of sexual violence. Our partnership with the Rape Recovery Center has completely changed our college experience, and those who surround us as well. Being able to be engaged in education and advocacy as men going through college has helped us see new perspectives and to use our voice to help our community that is affected by these types of violence. Being able to work with the RRC has helped us make conversations about these topics easier to have, which makes everyone feel safer and more comfortable in the community that we live in.
