At the RRC, we believe that consent is freely given, reversible, informed, enthusiastic, and specific. The Let’s Get Consensual campaign is a community partnership effort led by the Rape Recovery Center to promote a culture of consent across Salt Lake County. Through collaborations with local coffee shops and bars, this summer campaign raises awareness about sexual assault prevention, offering creative ways to encourage consent in all spaces and situations and reduce overall violence in our community.

How It Works

Participating Coffee Shops & Bars Will

Featuring the “Let’s Get Consensual” logo and a QR code that links to resources and a donation page.

Display Branded Coasters:

Offer Themed Drinks Examples Include:

Host Awareness Events optional but encouraged:

Events like “Consent Coffee Chats” and “Let’s Get Consensual Happy Hours” invite open dialogue and education.

Physical touch
“Can I give you a hug?”

Handling belongings
“May I touch your phone to show you something?”
“Is it okay if I look through your backpack for that?”

Emotional intimacy
“Do you have the time and energy to listen to a rant?”
“Do you want to talk about what you're going through?”
