  • The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for advancing the mission, vision, and long-term sustainability of the Rape Recovery Center. This role provides overall strategic leadership and executive oversight of the organization’s brand, operations, finances, public policy, and personnel. The ED fosters a trauma-informed and equity-centered organizational culture, maintains accountability to donors and grantors, and serves as a public voice and advocate for survivors of sexual violence.

    This is a full-time exempt salary position with a 40-hour workweek, offering full benefits. The salary ranges from $90,000 - $105,000 + bonus eligible, DOE and follows a Monday to Friday schedule (occasional evening and weekend hours as applicable). Benefits include health insurance, retirement match, and a generous time-off policy for paid holidays, paid sick time, and paid vacation.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Leadership & Governance

    • Guide the implementation of RRC’s mission and vision through strategic planning, program growth, and values-aligned decision-making.

    • Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and execute annual goals, long-range planning, and performance evaluations.

    • Cultivate a transparent and trust-based relationship with the Board; ensure timely, accurate reporting and strategic engagement.

    • Maintain a working knowledge of sexual violence issues, survivor-centered practices, and legislative impacts.

    • Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and staff, translating Board directives into actionable organizational priorities.

    Financial Oversight & Sustainability

    • Oversee, in collaboration with the Operations Director, all financial systems, including budgeting, audits, cash flow, and financial reporting.

    • Collaborate with the Operations Director and Board Finance Committee to ensure strong fiscal controls, compliance, and forecasting.

    • Guide long-term financial planning, capital campaigns, and reserve building.

    • Ensure timely submission of grant reports and accurate allocation of grant-funded staff hours.

    • Understand the administration of state and federal grants. 

    Operations & Facilities Management

    • Provide oversight to the Operations Director, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the organization are efficient, compliant, and supportive of program needs.

    • Anticipate and respond to emerging issues and crises affecting the organization or community; ensure the safety, continuity, and ethical integrity of RRC operations in all circumstances.

    • Maintain oversight of facilities management to ensure a safe, accessible, and trauma-informed environment.

    • Support IT, data systems, and organizational infrastructure in collaboration with the Operations Director.

    Fund Development & Donor Relations

    • Collaborate with the Development Director on fund development strategy, including individual giving, events, sponsorships, government grants, foundation grants, and donor cultivation.

    • Build relationships with current and potential funders, government entities, and institutional partners.

    • Collaborate with the Development Director to implement development plans that meet or exceed revenue goals.

    • Experience with a capital campaign. 

    Program Oversight & Service Delivery

    • Provide strategic guidance to the Associate Director, who oversees all programmatic departments and direct service staff.

    • Support the Associate Director in ensuring programmatic excellence, compliance with grant requirements, and responsiveness to community needs.

    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and equity in service delivery.

    People & Culture Leadership

    • Lead with a trauma-informed and equity-centered management approach.

    • Directly supervise the Associate Director, Operations Director, Development Director, and Marketing Coordinator.

    • Promote staff well-being, direct communication, and collaborative decision-making.

    • Oversee performance management, recruitment, and staff development planning in partnership with the Operations Director and Associate Director.

    Community Engagement, Partnerships, and Advocacy

    • Serve as the public representative of RRC with media, community leaders, funders, and stakeholders.

    • Support storytelling, branding, and external communications in partnership with the Marketing Coordinator and community engagement staff to uplift survivor voices and reflect the mission.

    • Build strategic partnerships to enhance survivor access to services and increase community visibility.

    • Lead advocacy and policy engagement at the local and state level to advance systemic change.

    • Collaborate with coalitions and task forces to ensure the implementation of survivor-centered resources, legislation, and public policy.

    REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, social work, OR a related field or equivalent lived/professional experience.

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, including supervision of senior-level staff.

    • Demonstrated experience in financial oversight, fund development, and grant compliance.

    • Proven ability to foster an inclusive, equitable, and trauma-informed organizational culture.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and media engagement.

    • Experience managing partnerships, coalitions, or public policy efforts.

    • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, HR, and operational systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in a relevant field (MPA, MSW, MBA, etc.).

    • Experience working in or with sexual violence prevention, survivor advocacy, or trauma-informed services.

    • Experience with capital campaign management or major donor stewardship.

    • Knowledge of Utah’s legislative and nonprofit landscape.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT OFFER

    • Employees/Staff Members of the RRC cannot be alone with clients until the background check is received and reviewed for risk. 

    • The employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification and submit within 120 days.

    • The employee agrees to a probationary period of 90-days from the first day of working in their new position. After 90-days, the employee will receive a detailed evaluation of their progress. 

    • Employees must comply with the flu and covid19 vaccination policy.

  • The Mobile Response Team Advocate will provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence through advocacy and crisis intervention as part of a mobile response team. The ideal candidate has experience in human services and working with clients from various cultural and identity groups. This job requires a person who works well independently with excellent crisis management skills. Applicants with crisis response experience and a strong understanding and/or interest in social justice are encouraged to apply.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide victim advocacy and referrals to survivors of sexual violence during medical forensic exams and advocacy cases in Salt Lake County hospitals and clinics.

    • Be mindfully present and work to understand each client’s individual needs and assist them accordingly. This includes remaining at the hospital for the duration of the Code-R medical forensic exam and assisting with any housing and transportation needs.

    • Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner when working with clients and when interacting with medical and law enforcement personnel.

    • Build collaborative relationships with RRC staff, volunteers, and community partners, as well as members of the community.

    • Attend monthly Mobile Response Team staff meetings and required individual supervisions.

    • Attend the annual Mobile Response Team staff retreat.

    • Respond to work communications within 2-business days.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT OFFER

    • Employee must complete and pass a criminal background check.

    • Employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification within 90-days of employment (If you have already taken this training through UCASA it will be accepted). The Rape Recovery Center cannot compensate (hourly office rate) for the training.

    • Employee must complete all new hire paperwork provided to them by the end of the day on the first day of employment.

    • Employee must agree to a probationary period of 90-days from the start of employment. After 90-days the employee will receive a detailed evaluation of their progress.

    • Position Details This is a Non-exempt Part-Time Position: 24 hours on-call per week (six, four-hour shifts). Wage is $5.00 on-call, $17.00 office time (meetings, email upkeep, etc), $21.16 for all direct client services provided (once fully trained). The Rape Recovery Center offers a telehealth benefit for MRT advocates and time and half pay for holidays worked.

  • The Prevention Specialist advances the mission of the Rape Recovery Center to educate the community about the impact and prevention of sexual violence. The Prevention Specialist will work directly with community partners, schools, and youth to reduce risk factors and improve protective factors for sexual violence victimization. The Prevention Specialist leads and works with the Community Engagement Director to recruit and mentor youth in prevention programming through Peer Advocacy Council (PAC), Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. 

    This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position with full benefits, an hourly position of $21.66-$22.74 DOE, with a primary Monday to Friday schedule, some evenings and weekends as scheduled. Benefits include health insurance, a retirement match, and a generous time-off policy for paid holidays, paid sick time, and paid vacation.     Reports To: Community Engagement Director 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Recruit for and implement the Peer Advocacy Council (PAC) program through the lens of primary prevention, utilizing engaging and appropriate curriculum and activities. 

      • Host Peer Advocacy Council (PAC) program twice a month and one parent/caregiver-focused programming per quarter.

    • Lead school-based violence prevention programming. 

    • Recruit students, parents, and teachers to participate in Rape Recovery Center programming. 

    • Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator, Outreach Specialist, and Community Engagement Director to plan and implement the Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM) campaign.

    • Work closely with the Outreach Advocate to align prevention and outreach efforts across programs and events.

    • Foster confidence in the knowledge base, people skills, workshop and tabling facilitation, and competency.

    • Adhere to annual goals and grant objectives, which include meeting internal reporting requirements and deadlines. 

      • Submit reporting and notes within 24 hours of services provided. 

      • Complete accurate and comprehensive data reporting of all services offered within 24 hours.

    • Create and maintain safety and boundaries with youth, clients, participants, and partners.

    • Serve as the point of contact and maintain active communication with parents, caregivers, and youth participants. 

    • Increase protective factors of developing societal community support and connectedness in youth participants. 

    • Periodically evaluate curriculum and activities for cultural and developmental appropriateness, inclusivity, accuracy, recent research, and changes in best practices. 

    • Provide crisis intervention, referrals to our advocacy and clinical teams, and support while representing the Rape Recovery Center at public programming.

    • Attend meetings and training to ensure that services and current skill set align with Utah Rape Crisis Center Standards of Care and are evidence-based. 

    • Communicate and collaborate around trends, needs, gaps, or data with the Director promptly and consistently.

    • Implement appropriate assessments for all prevention programming. 

    • Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner.

    REQUIREMENTS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field OR 4 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or grassroots advocacy OR an equivalent combination of practical and academic experience 

    • Outstanding communication skills

    • Ability to work well with and inspire confidence in multiple stakeholders 

    • Excellence in balancing various responsibilities 

    • Demonstrated project management, public speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills. 

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Understanding of the micro, mezzo, and macro impact of sexual violence 

    • Experience with case management, engagement, and working with disproportionately impacted populations (i.e., LGBTQI+, Unhoused, Undocumented Immigrants, Black, Indigenous, and other Persons of Color) 

    • Bilingual in English & Spanish 

    • Experience in non-profit outreach and engagement. 

    • Knowledge of Salt Lake County or Tooele-based resources and partnerships.
